The difference between Rockwell hardness and Vickers hardness(三)

3. Difference between Rockwell hardness and Vickers hardness

Rockwell hardness: easy to operate, direct reading, and small indentation, suitable for batch and finished product production, but multi-point testing is required to ensure accuracy.

Vickers hardness The test measurement range is wider, from softer materials to super hard materials, covering almost all kinds of materials.

Rockwell hardness: suitable for harder metals, such as various alloy steels after heat treatment, etc., requiring a high level of test surface.

Vickers hardness Suitable for precise measurement of hardness in micro-areas, usually used to detect the effective hardening layer of metals after carburization, requires a very flat test surface and must be a polished surface to work.
