The influence of sealing surface material and treatment state on the sealing performance of high pressure ball valves
The sealing surface material and its state of finish have a significant impact on the amount of leakage from a high pressure ball valve. The way to ensure link sealing is to fit the two surfaces to each other so that the remaining gap between the surfaces becomes capillary hole shaped to prevent fluid from passing through. The size of the residual gap depends on the microscopic unevenness of the sealing surface, so if a harder material (such as a steel seal) is used to manufacture the same degree of sealing, it must have a larger specific pressure, the value of which must exceed the value of the specific pressure with a softer material (such as a seal made of brass).
The state of the surface finish associated with the connection of the sealing surface of the high-pressure ball valve: such as the deformation of the crest, changes in dimensions and sealing gap, and other phenomena occur on the surface layer of the metal, it is clear that the performance of the surface layer is significantly different from the performance of the substrate material. Therefore, the same test piece, after two different processing methods, although the surface finish is the same, but the results obtained from the test are different.
